The trade organization Professional Photographers of America posted today in support of SOPA & PIPA. Aside from the fact that they are late in voicing an opinion, their reasons are woefully ridiculous and hyperbolic. An example:

“Particularly disturbing to every photographer should be the attempts by Google, Wikipedia and others to define copyright as censorship.”

I’m a commercial photographer by trade, and I oppose SOPA and PIPA. I’ve already voiced my opinion to PPA, and will have nothing to do with their organization until they change their stance.

There’s probably a lot of other photographers and media pros who read Boing Boing. Changing the course of trade organizations like this could really affect the next version of SOPA. Voice your opinion!
