At last something to give back to boingboing readers!

A seven month celebration honoring Charles Dickens at the centennial of his birth and keying on his 1842 visit to Lowell, the planned city which led America into the industrial age. The schedule kicks off with an opening weekend which includes a lecture by Floria Schweitzer, Director of the Charles Dickens Museum of London: “Heroes and Bringers of Light: Dickens and the Struggle for International Copyright”. The celebration will apparently include a “Steampunk and Scholars Week” in July with a “steampunk mill girl fashion show” – - one can hardly wait – -
