The HCI Lab ( ) of the University of Udine has turned the classic snake game into a location-based exergame (LocoSnake) to encourage walking.
First, Locosnake detects players' position and retrieves the satellite photograph of the area that will be used as a playing field. Then, the player controls the Snake in the game by walking in the real-world, using GPS.
LocoSnake will be presented at the PERSUASIVE 2012 Conference in Sweden, and a technical paper with a detailed user evaluation of the exergame is available at this link:
