Cambridge University Cuts Off Nose; Face 'Spited'.
Owen Holland read a poem. That much is clear. Via a human microphone, he disrupted an debate appearance by the Universities Minister David Willetts. He kept going until Willetts left. No one was hurt. No one was threatened. And then Cambridge decided to suspend Holland for 2.5 years. That’s only a few months short of the Ph.D program itself. In that time, he isn’t allowed onto University property, to talk to his supervisor or use the library. For reading a poem.
It looks a lot like Cambridge, home of dissenters and protest in centuries past, is trying to show the government how loyal and good it can be. It looks a lot like Mr Holland is simply being made an example of. It looks a lot like bullying.

David McWilliams has long been the boy who cried wolf in Irish economics, the (nearly) lone voice of clarity. Here he takes a look at what’s actually going on in Europe and tries to explain what exactly the Germans are playing at.

Might as well see why he thinks he did it.

As many people know, Ann Rice is on Facebook. She updates a lot and has many followers. About 20 minutes ago she posted a link with “what do you guys think?”. Well it looks like she’s been hacked, since the link is a fairly nasty virus.
You have been warned.

Ashley Mitchell broke into Zynga (the douche bags who make Facebook nearly unusable with their copied shit-ware) and stole 400bn credits for their crappy games. He then sold some of them for about €50,000. Despite the credits having no actual value, he’s just been jailed for two years with the prosecution claiming they had the potential value of £7m.

This isn’t the first time this has happened, but it still shocks me every time, both at the lengths governments go to suppress ‘vital’ information, and the fact that publishers collaborate with them.

Julian has applied to trademark his name. Obviously inspired by the success of the Palin’s attempt… Oh. Should we be reading this in the light of Assanges threat of legal action for copyright violation against the Guardian for sharing the State Department leaks with the New York Times? Is Assange in danger of becoming a massive hypocrite?

I defy anyone to out do the shear scale and folly of Don Justo’s home baked Cathedral. No planning permission, no architectural or engineers drawings and a massive central dome that took over 20 years to build, on his own? Got to be a world beater.
