Comcast yanks funds for nonprofit after tweet about FCC Baker’s jump

“Seattle-based nonprofit Reel Grrls, was told it had lost $18,000 in funding for a teen summer film camp after it sent a tweet about FCC Commissioner Meredith Attwell Baker’s jump to the cable and media giant.”

Comcast ended up deciding it wanted to restore the money, but it’s worth checking out.

Unintended Divination iPhone Apps

Blog post about two iPhone apps that you can use for divination – though they aren’t intended that way. The latest one is Word Lens – which is an augmented reality app that translates words from spanish to english. However, if you hold it up to regular things in your surroundings, it often thinks its found random words. Post includes a flickr set of the strangest ones I’ve encountered.

I’ve also been using Dragon Dictation to ‘speak in tongues’ and have it spit out ‘poetry’. A link to that included.
