My favorite gift this year was a This is a jar of rutabega that I received from my Aunt Judy. She knows I love it, because I always take as many left-overs as I can carry on Thanksgiving. It’s a gift that is uniquely available from someone I know. It’s not a huge amount of effort, but it is hugely appreciated. Jesus would like this way more than a gift card from Best Buy.

I ran across these weird mossy patches on some trees near the border of Mexico and Arizona. Upon closer inspection they turned out to be thousands of spiders clustered together.

Sorry for the bad url. I added it to the flickr pool. Copy and paste doesn’t work on my Firefox OS X when submitting. Chrome doesn’t seem to work at all on that form either. Still, no excuse for lazy web addresses.
