These are the kind of stories that make me just love biology and science in general. A new form of spongy mushroom has been found in the jungles of Borneo and the scientists involved have had the great sense of humor to name it Spongiforma squarepantsii. Quite an apt name considering it’s characteristics. The ongoing saga of Wikileaks continues as Paypal, Mastercard and Visa refuse to process donations for Wikileaks and Assange’s defense – then they in turn are attacked by “Anonymous” for attacking Wikileaks – next Twitter and Facebook block “Operation Payback” for their attacks on Visa/Mastercard/Paypal. And to top it all off now DataCell, the payment processor for Wikileaks in Iceland, threatens to sue Visa & Mastercard for refusing donations. Sit back and grab some popcorn folks this is proving to be quite an entertaining story

In the spirit of the season Brain Injury New Zealand, a charity that supports those with brain injuries, is planning a fund raising event later this month that will include a zombie walk down Main Street to the tune of Michal Jackson’s “Thriller”. Apparently the local media has started receiving complaints about the event by those with no (dark) sense of humor. Some sponsors nearly axed their support but upon further conversations with the event organizers have resurrected their backing.

why would they use that stuff ? toluene is the stuff they stopped using in model airplane glue because its so toxic.
