  Not sure that facebook link will work, but here it is. Inspired by the “I throw my telescope in the air sometimes, Singing AYO- I’m Galileo” image, Lydia has done a complete and awesome rewrite of the song to make a full Galileo version replete with historically correct references!

  I rewrote all the lyrics to the song Dynamite by Taio Cruz. Now it’s Satellite(I’m Galileo).

• Non-magnetic safe power plug for non-Apple laptops

  My friend Jeff created this snap off safety power plug for laptops that mimics the magnetic safety power plug used by Apple – but avoids any IP claims. Clever. It consists of a small adapter that contains the snap away socket and the plug that goes into your laptop, so you can use it with any compatible laptop with a 7.4mm plug. They’ve got a kickstarter program going to put it into production.

  As housing has gone bust and McMansions sit repossessed and unsold the question of what kind of house America really wants begs answers. This blog looks at the use of Modern & Contemporary houses to sell other products, and to sell other ideas. The ultimate question is why American homebuilders do not build and sell houses like these when culturally the modern house is almost universally understood as an object of desire.

• Swedish houses are built by robots, and hella cool.

  In Sweden they build their houses in factories using carpenter robots – automated framing machines – and because each house design is just a package of data they can offer all kinds of cool houses, kinds that you would never see for sale here. I’ve been posting images of Swedish Catalog Houses to my blog for over a week, each day a new factory, and they just keep on coming, cool house after cool house. Meanwhile in the US? We clearly have our heads up our McMansiony asses.
