Atari didn’t create that game. It was programmed by Chris Crawford and released by the Atari Program Exchange which was Atari’s in-house pseudo-”public domain” arm that took programs designed by non-staff and released it to the general public. Anyone could write something, submit it and if it were up to snuff, Atari would release it via this experimental channel.
