Arcade Brewery is a burgeoning interactive concept in beer. Helmed in part by Lance Curran of Threadless.com, its goal is to create a deep connection between their customers and their craft brews by fostering interaction from conception to consumption.

Their first project is called SIX-PACK STORIES, and which will feature a short story told across the labels of a 6-pack, and the debut issue/pack will feature work from comic book creators and beer lovers, Jason Aaron (Scalped, Wolverine) and Tony Moore (The Walking Dead, Venom).

  • Captured: America in Color from 1939-1943

In 1940, my grandmother was only a child, and my grandfather was a fresh-faced young man about to join the Army. It’s strange for me to imagine them living in a full-color world, because the images of their past I’ve grown up with my whole life are in black and white, and usually pretty damaged. Seeing these stark, vibrant images somehow makes it feel like the time they were my age was not all that long ago after all– a brand new sense of connection to that which is so long gone.

A friend sent me this link, and I was so moved by it, i thought i’d share it, too.

    From the site:
“These images, by photographers of the Farm Security Administration/Office of War Information, are some of the only color photographs taken of the effects of the Depression on America’s rural and small town populations. The photographs are the property of the Library of Congress and were included in a 2006 exhibit Bound for Glory: America in Color.”

'Walking Dead' billboard causes controversy: Poor taste? -- PHOTO

A billboard for AMC’s zombie show The Walking Dead on the side of a funeral home caused a stir among the locals. Admittedly, I laughed, but I am a heartless bastard.

      Fixed.

I predict that hipsters will soon request zombie make-up for their parents’ open-casket funerals. But then I used to threaten to have my mother stuffed whenever she was mean to me as a child.

    Kafka's Pest Kontrol

The Johnson County Library in Kansas has a wonderfully clever campaign of printed courier trucks, including Mr Hyde’s Pharmacy, Benjamin Button’s Diaper Service, Captain Ahab’s Fine Seafood, and my favorite, Kafka’s Pest Control.
