When your beloved feline companion passes away, you could have her buried, or cremated, or stuffed. Or you could turn her into a cow-chasing quad-copter!

I’ve seen different animals do this but never a bird. Quite sad. These are elegant birds who hunt small prey on the wing. It is touching to see this. Sorry about the blurry video… and the double submission. I couldn’t tell if the first one went.

Our Walking Sticks are of the species Carausius Morosus, ie. Indian Walking Sticks. Walking sticks are quite easy insects to film because at daytime they either eat (seldom) or they try to act stick as their defense mechanism. Flip of the coin is that to some they might appear boring.
Walking sticks are nocturnal creatures meaning, that they are active and mostly eat at night time.
Our walking sticks are about 10 cm from head to tail and maybe even 15 cm when legs are extented. Most of the walking sticks are female and they lay eggs without needing a male to fertilize the eggs. As a matter of fact male sticks are rare.a

A Chrome extension that teaches your kids to read
“Phonetically Intuitive English” (PIE) is a scheme and a Chrome extension that automatically adds diacritics to English words on Web pages to make their American English pronunciations crystal clear. Unlike phonics which try to teach the many pronunciation rules of English, this directly shows the pronunciation data of English words, and can be a great tool for kids to read early.

I hope this doesn’t just read as a shameless plug, but my friend owns the coolest little accordion shop in Philly, and he just got a new accordion in. Then this happened. It’s always fun when my friends get unashamedly excited about things, but this time there was a little more magic than usual.
For accordion enthusiasts, their whole feed has some really cool harmoniums and accordians: http://www.youtube.com/user/libertybellows
And their shop is absolutely fabulous – a creaky old building near Philly’s Itallian Market stacked floor to ceiling with beautiful instruments, new and old: http://www.libertybellows.com
