Jairus Khan (DJ, hacker, electronic musician, designer, copyright nerd, professional web lord, recovering goth) played this weekend to about 2000 people in Montreal at a festival called Kinetik. When he realized he was going to be sharing the bill with two bands he’d criticisized for their racsim and sexism, he decided – rather than cancel his performance – to use the last five minutes of his set to play a PSA he made, calling out those two bands for what they were doing. Here is that PSA. It’s amazing, and has started a fantastic conversation in the scene.

Invisible Ads Can Only Be Seen When Wearing Polarised Sunglasses. Using hacked LCD screens, a terrace house in Sydney and some creative video Lynx were able to create a campaign that was not only unique but one brand.

This “hack” is relatively simple so it’ll be interesting to see how others use it in the future. We’ve already seen someone in the adult industry tweet about it being perfect to advertise their content. Well trust that industry to jump on this.

New York City’s abandoned spaces come to life

Back in January Boing Boing wrote about a group of Brooklyn filmmakers raising funds to shoot a Post-Apocalypic web series in the abandoned spaces of New York.

The campaign was successful and ‘The Silent CIty’ trailer is now online. It shows some of the haunting locations they were able to film in, as well as helpful tips for surviving the impending armageddon.

Tip #1: Only take what you can carry.

Wild Cat Attack Leaves 13 Injured In A Gun Fight

Forest officials on Sunday killed a leopard in self-defense after it injured 13 people in north eastern India’s Assam state.

The wild cat entered a residential zone in Dibrugarh district of the province at around 6 a.m. and attacked one person. Forest officials reached the area and after a long struggle located the hiding animal and fired two shot of tranquilizers at the leopard.

A crowd of locals gathered at the spot to see the leopard – falling to sleep under the dose of tranquilizers, but the public noise alerted the wild cat who further attacked and injured 13 people including two forest officials.
